The Benefits of Swinging
Benefits for Kids
Swinging has great developmental benefits for children including developing gross motor skills, balance, special awareness and eyesight.
Studies have shown that children who swing regularly sleep better as the swinging motion helps balance neurological activity in the brain.
This calming effect can also be particularly beneficial to those on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing issues.
Benefits for Parents
Helps keep kids calm or happy while giving mum and dad safe, hands-free time. One of the most popular places to hang the swing is in the kitchen for this reason!
Very helpful in calming fussy or tired babies.
Kids love it! And what’s better than happy memories with your children.
Where to hang your swing
A beautiful addition to the home, the Solvej swing will provide hours of entertainment for both parent and child and can be easily unclipped and moved to different locations around the house and garden. A playroom is the obvious choice to locate your swing, but certainly not the only place! When designing a calm and beautiful nursery, the baby swing will make a stylish addition to your nursery décor. Provided you have the room to allow, the baby swing can be a useful addition to the kitchen to allow parents some much-needed hands-free time while baby happily swings and babbles away.
The swing comes with one set of screw eyes which will need to be attached to a strong structural point in the ceiling such as timber or door frame, or a pergola.
What Age is the Solvej baby toddler swing suitable for?
The swing is designed to grow with your child. The baby swing is suitable from a recommended age of 6 months when baby can sit up unsupported and the neck muscles are well developed for them to hold their head up. Once your child reaches 3, the central panel at the front can be unclipped and tucked away, allowing the child to lift the front bar and climb into the swing themselves. The toddler swing is then recommended up to the age of 6 with a maximum weight of 40kg.
Hanging Height
The swing should hang up to 2.7m in the baby mode - where you can pop them in and out easily and 2.4m in the toddler mode - closer to the ground so they can climb in and out by themselves. Note: this is the height to hang the swing from, not the length of the ropes.
